‘RUBIES & ROSES’ Yoga Tour – Rajasthan & Beyond

A beautiful 5-star journey into the foothills of the Himalaya and the splendour of Rajasthan.

When: 09 October – 27 October, 2018
(18 nights, 19 days).

This journey is based on:
• the philosophies and practice of Patanjali’s ‘8 Limbs of Yoga’
• india’s natural medical system for healing, rejuvenation and relaxation

This tour covers great distances through deserts and hills. Experiencing an energetic and exciting foray into Northern India, you will experience its vibrancy, kaleidoscope of hues, regality of palaces, grandeur of forts and deep reverence to gods, customs and rituals.

You will come to understand the rise and fall of many emperors, which has left behind a plethora of monuments and palaces that commemorate the grandeur and glory of bygone ages. You will see ‘what fairytales were made of”. Very few places in the world can express such a profusion of architectural styles.

Small streets; wide boulevards; twisting lanes; crowded bazaars; rickshaws; the sacred river; Gandi’s markings; palaces and tombs; train travel; elephant travel; camel travel; holy cities; monuments to’ love’; the lush to the desert; bangles and bling; blue, pink, amber; rubies and roses; silks and gold; princes and aesthetics. Did we mention the exquisite cuisine?
The regions are internationally renowned for their architecture, jewels, textiles, art and spirituality.

The weather will vary a little but in October, (winter months October-March) it is pleasant throughout with bright sunny days. In winter the daily maximum temperature in most of the areas is between 22° – 28°C and the minimum is 8° – 14°C.

Ideal for:
The Hatha yoga classes, deep relaxation sessions and meditation instruction are experiential and simply executed. These methods are ideal for beginners as well as those who wish to ‘deepen’ their already established yoga practice.

People of all ages, body types, walks of life, professions and dispositions are welcome.

There will plenty of time to contemplate, relax, restore and refresh. You do what you will and yoga is not obligatory. Nothing is……except to have fun!

You may be curious as to…

why I called this tour “Rubies & Roses”…

The first thing that will amaze you is the sheer expanse of the cities, palaces and forts. Everything bejewelled and glittering with gold, silver, mirrors and precious gems. You will be spellbound by the intricacy of design and the masterful craftsmanship. The maharajahs from all over India commissioned artisans from this part of India.

And then… the roses. It seems there are roses everywhere. In the spas, in the rooms and adorning entrances. It is said that when the great kings returned from battle, rose petals would be thrown from the ramparts in honour of their homecoming.

Red – indicates passion, heat, spirit, energy and the dynamism of this land.
